Could/should we extract all posts about the engine issue and put in a separate thread?..... I don't think so. After all, the A320neo programme mostly consists in fitting modern engines to a classical frame ...

Hey all, I came across a Facebook post from a friend who has mentioned he recieved some info regarding the A320neo. He stated that the engines have been limited to a maximum takeoff air temperature of 35C and a max takeoff altitude of 6000ft. Has this information been confirmed? And if so, what is the problem? He also mentions this is one of the reasons Qatar haven't accepted the aircraft. Does anyone else have anymore information? Cheers.

True - but the certification of the engine went through - so if there would have been serious problem the certification process would have delayed. The post should have been .... went through.

Thanks for the input everyone! It does make sense that if theproblems were the case, the engine wouldn't be certified. In saying that, does anyone know what these engines are required to achieve in order to be certified (in terms of hot and high performance)?
Cheers.

Airbus delivered 491 A320 family aircraft in 2015. With stable delivery numbers, 20 % is < 100. I expect, however, total ceo + neo deliveries to beat the 500 mark by a large margin.
