Please if anybody could enlighten us from a technical perspective: What is the current status of the two neo-engine variants and what technical issues do they have? What is the "valve issue"? It's hard to understand to me how this major delay in deliveries goes widely unnoticed. This must mean big bucks earned later? For the CFM Leap it was reported that the low compressor bleed valve is pinned (always?!) open. My simple understanding (but I am not an expert and doubt that my answer is correct) that the pressure of the low pressure compressor do not perfectly fit to the high one. CFM is reported to reblade the low pressure compressor to overcome the issue. The user Lightsaber (an ex P&W employee and engine expert) on anet made some detailed comments that open valve is critical, not optimal for efficiency. CFM just said that reblading will improve lifetime. For the PWG after solving the technical issues the ramp is reported to be delayed.
