How early in the production process do frames become bespoke?
I know Emirates (what a surprise!) have the different number of windows on their variants - although surprisingly the OF process seems the first opportunity to confirm this. Questions about the variant at Convoy or FAL rollout seem to be dismissed as 'can't say at this stage'. When do the missing or extra windows disappear or appear?
Bearing in mind that frames get refurbished during their lives, even if they stay with the same operator, they must be in a pretty standard form, surely?

I suppose "very early" since : a) Customised items are chosen and ordered at an early stage (some of them are long-lead items). b) Customers chose from several weight options, with - I suppose - multiple implications. b) Customers also have a choice of engines, which come with different pylons. Customised interiors are installed at a late stage, but as pointed out above, they have to be ordered early.

Customised interiors are installed at a late stage, but as pointed out above, they have to be ordered early. Bearing in mind that fuselage sections become allocated to a frame as soon as they start construction, presumably it is the weight which is part of the criteria. I wondered what would happen if a customer had to cancel when the sections were at a stage where they were ready to be convoyed. Can any operator be given the frame at that stage or is it too bespoke? Your comments about interiors etc are particularly relevant if the sections are fitted out to a greater degree, therefore speeding up FAL and OF time.
