Not really new, Beluga's don't have the range and will be used for European transport only. The A320 sections will be shipped across the ocean, like they do with the China plant. The Beluga fleet will also reach maximum capacity in 2018, there's no room for flying sections to Mobile even if it had the required range.

It seems this could really be a boost to convert some A330's into a sort of second generation Belugas. Airbus does like to keep everything under control, including transporting parts from very small to very big...

Excellent, thanks so much. It's a pity that we don't get more regular information about building progress. I find this as fascinating as the aircraft assembly itself - provision of supporting taxiways, aprons, associated buildings etc so thanks for this new photo.
