Lufthansa's 10th 747-8i (D-ABYL) was their first aircraft that received the PIP engines from the factory. The first 9 aircraft will receive the PIP upgrade during the first major maintenance overhaul.

The outside engines need to be removed for the structural mods so it's something that is done during bigger maintenance.

Lufthansa February inflight magazine (Magazin) Chariman & CEO's intro says 4 more to be delivered to fleet by April. Brussels Airline inflight magazine bit boring.
