I wonder what are the reasons for that flight. Are they related to the test programme, or is it a symbolic gesture ?

Airbus normally does cabin tests in XFW, think about evacuation tests etc. This usually means the start of the certification trials.
I believe MSN2 should spend two weeks in XFW.
