At first glance it does look a bit like the Air NZ special (or is it now standard?) livery.

It looks a bit like NZ indeed but the paintwork on MSN2 should represent carbon.
Ground tests and various cabin checks I assume.

Airbus: Our third A350 XWB flight-test aircraft, MSN2, has been unveiled featuring a distinctive “Carbon” signature livery to reflect its primary construction from advanced materials.
This is the first of two A350 flight test aircraft to be equipped with a full passenger cabin interior and will be the first A350 to transport passengers when it undertakes the Early Long Flights (ELF) later in the year.

I can see a double meaning there; Carbon Firbe and Cabin Furnishings.
