So what was the reason that with MSN 01 they painted after attaching the engines if normally they prefer to attach after painting?

On the move again. MSN3 visited the A380 hangars and will go to the C63 hangar on Monday for engine attachment.

On the move again. MSN3 visited the A380 hangars and went inside C63 afterwards for engine attachment. Interesting that the aircraft is also having engines attached before painting like MSN1, makes me wonder if the plan to paint the aircraft before hanging the engines was an idea that only ever existed in the video.

For the production frames, engines will be installed after painting in station 20. The prototypes are doing it in a bit different way because they need more testing, and it's easier to reach all the hatches etc without the paint.

Engines and other expensive assets like business class seats will be installed at the very last moment in station 20 to keep inventory costs down.

Hey i am sure MSN 1 took 2 weeks at station 18 last time. This time only like 9-10days at station 18.
Also if shes not going back to station 18 she seems to be moving really quickly. Only another 3 weeks and we will be talking about turning on the APU and engines after the hand over to the flight crew. I think i recall MSN 1 taking 2-3 weeks in engine installation and then 5 days to paint. If they can get engines done in 2 weeks i think we will definitely be looking at late September for first flight.

MSN1 spent 3 weeks at P18 versus 1 week for MSN3.
Engine attachment took 12 hours (not days), plus 4 weeks for indoor ground testing. Most of those tests can be skipped for MSN3. First flight is scheduled for the end of September.
