I believe only ANA and JAL have a few frames with 8 abreast in Y. Found it, ANA's international 787's (5 units) have 2-4-2 in Y:   The domestic configurations are 3-3-3. |

And the JAL 787 Y cabin, also in 2-4-2:  787-8 Dreamliner by CruisAir, on Flickr I believe they don't have any domestic 787 birds. |

Seems to be about corporate greed, more bums on seats = more money.......but then that's just the way I see it..  It's about giving the market what it wants, which is cheap tickets in Y. Don't like it, pay up and travel in Y+/C etc Businesses that doesn't make money have a tendency to go bankrupt ...... |

Is 8 going to be the new "premium economy"? I'd be disappointed if it doesn't match or is at least close to the price of the 8 abreast economy 787s.  |

Well, 8 abreast in the 787 gives you 18.5" seats I believe. Is that bad?

As I said, it ought to be very close to the price of economy in some A380s, the 8 abreast economy 787s and the 9 abreast 777s or else there isn't much incentive to fly premium economy on the 787 on the same routes. |
