I would've put this on my routes list, but considering the operating nature of this airline, I am holding off until I officially see reservations loaded into a GDS schedule or photos of them actually visiting the destinations mentioned below. According to this thread on airliners.net with news articles, Air India (AI) plans on starting new international destinations with their 787s, such as SYD, MEL, BHX, FCO, MXP, and Moscow. They also plan on having their long-haul fleet comprise exclusively of 787s! www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/5765666/Again believe it when you see it with your own eyes, ladies and gentlemen. This is the same airline that created what felt like a never-ending saga when it came to 787 deliveries.

....... Again believe it when you see it with your own eyes, ladies and gentlemen. This is the same airline that created what felt like a never-ending saga when it came to 787 deliveries. In line with the AI vs Boeing story: Air India seeks compensation over 787s fuel-economy claimQuotation: "We have already sent a demand notice to Boeing seeking compensation for under-delivery of fuel efficiency as our six Dreamliners on an average gave us only a little over 17 per cent on the fuel efficiency front," the source said, without giving more details.

This endless haggling over compensation is the fruit of the 787 mishaps. It should take place behind closed doors, but actually the story has been unfolding in the press from the outset ...

"We have already sent a demand notice to Boeing seeking compensation for under-delivery of fuel efficiency as our six Dreamliners on an average gave us only a little over 17 per cent on the fuel efficiency front," the source said, without giving more details. That's harsh. "Only?" 17% is quite good. But the most important thing is if Boeing has met the targeted fuel consumption for this plane. Comparison to other frames are just marketing blurb that is irrelevant to the actual contractual obligations by Boeing. There are so many variables that would affect the actual performance of this aircraft and the competing one and I think 17% is within limits.

I just saw on flighradar24 that LOT's SP-LRB is flying from Ethiopia to Warsaw tonight. Looks like another plane with the battery fix done. Here's to seeing them back in service soon.
