Why these planes got retired after 10 years?? there's planes much older still flying? And why not transform them into freighters instead of being scrapped? Is it cheaper to do this???

Test aircraft are very different from from regular aircraft. To an airline, their maintenance would be a pain ... As regards freighter duty, there is no A380 freighter conversion programme.
