I think actually the mistake isn't the first time, it happened in past years with confusions with MUC-YVR flights..

Yes, Lufthansa wanted to be the first airline to operate an A380 at MUC. But Emirats changed their plan for the first flights from mid December to end of November I think. So Emirats was first ;-)

Well, I don't know LH's plans but from the quoted article they appear to have decided to upgauge/upgrade the service to an A380 five times a week except during the winter months. I don't know whether the reports are mistaken or not.
"Lufthansa is resuming flights between Miami and its Munich hub, with the service operating each Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday via an Airbus A380.
The flights complement Lufthansa’s existing daily A380 service from Miami to Frankfurt.
During the winter months, the route will be operated with an Airbus A330-300 featuring Lufthansa’s new First, Business and Economy Class layout, which accommodates 217 passengers."

from the quoted article "Lufthansa is resuming flights between Miami and its Munich hub, with the service operating each Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday via an Airbus A380." after checking the press releases (english and german) on LH's website I think the quoted article is a prime example of sloppy quoting of the original source. None of the press releases contains a word of LH deploying an A380 on the route or even a hint at continuing the service after the winter season ends. BTW, it wouldn't make much sense anyways to use an A330 in winter and an A380 during the summer as demand for flights from Germany to Florida is usually inversely proportional to the outside temperatures (in Germany).
