It's not impossible, they only need to do a high-speed taxi test and a RTO before first flight. |

An update on Cseries Activities. Flightglobal is reporting that some high speed taxi tests were completed with further tests being delayed due to weather. ( here and here) The Chicago Tribune says news of the first flight may come as early as Sunday (see here) and Reuters says first flight will likely happen by the 17th of September (see here) |
