That is a well written article - giving out information in serious way. Let's cross fingers for BBD.

So what sort of "production redesign" is the PW engine getting that will be incorporated in the A320neo as well please?

The changes have not be disclosed yet - the last official information was that BBD still had questions for P&W. The long CSeries test flight delay is feeding speculation that the issue is of significant importance, and if the A320neo first flight is delayed as well, it is not too much of a stretch to guess that these events are linked.

I think there is not enough information available, given the importance of these engines to two current aircraft programs. Hopefully if they know what is going on and have a solution they are able to share more details soon. Keeping that quiet for so long does sound like major issues have come up to me. (Hopefully not)

There are more than two new aircraft programs relying on P&W's GTF (Ejets 2, MRJ ...) !
They will speak out as soon as all the details of the fix, and a new timeline, can be provided to the media. I suppose customers already know much more than we do.

While I'm still confident of smooth progress of the flight test programs, Pratt does seem to have put their credibility under a bit more intense scrutiny given the F-35 engine Titanium fiasco (more on that story here).

Engine start for FTV2 was today. Expect the flight test to resume on Sunday.
