I'm not sure what they mean by "prevailing cold Canadian winter season", with temperatures oscillating between -5 and +5 I wouldn't call this neither cold neither winter......

If this is initial cold weather testing, what was done in Florida last year? All I know is that there are two stages : first a design improvement stage, when the manufacturer is trying to get a better understanding of the new aircraft, so as to improve her, and then official certification tests, which you do not want to miss. I don't know which stage BBD has reached in the CSeries test schedule, but this two-step approach might be the reason for a repetition of tests.

Thanks addasih! (and Rob Dewar) -flight test hours are now over 900 -FTV1 flew at Mach 0.91 -FTV2 recently completed extreme cold tests at Mirabel facilities (-30 degres) -FTV3 is at Wichita doing system tests -FTV4 (performance aircraft) did cruise fuel burn performance -FTV5 (1st aircraft with interior) completed the passenger evacuation test -in December static tests were all finished, including the wing bending test was completed successfully -12000 flight cycles so far -production now ramped up with addition of new buildings -2nd production aircraft now in Final Assembly (about to join Wings) -FTV7 (1st CS300) did engine runs, initial ground runs, now inside hangars doing ground vibration tests (GVT) -second CS300 also now in Final Assembly also available here atwonline.com/aircraft-engines/bombardier-completes-more-cseries-tests-towards-certification

Posting this looking for clarification -
I did not see not hear Rob mention the CS300 as "FTV7"
Is this an assumption that it is called that and not "FTV6"?
It makes no sense that FTV6 would be the fatigue airframe in Germany as FTV stands for Flight Test Vehicle, not Fatigue Test Vehicle.
