I had never noticed this difference between passenger and cargo A330s !

I had never noticed this difference between passenger and cargo A330s ! Yes, the A330 and A340 have a bit of a nose down attitude when on the ground (which would go towards explaining the Libyan A342 you linked earlier) and so they added the blister to make the floor flat on the freighter which makes it easier to load cargo.

So the new Beluga XL will have to have this jacked up nose as well, so they don't have to push the parts in uphill !

The cargo deck will have to be level in the Beluga XL, I guess you won't see the blister bit around the nose wheel though because of the dropped cockpit ?
