Fascinated by the size difference between the L1011 and the 747-400. On its own, the L1011 looks quite bigger than it really is.

Well the L1011 on the photo is model 500 i.e. 50.09 m - the 747s are model 400 i.e.70.6 m - looking at the photo it is exactly that .

Meanwhile here's a neat picture of a super looooooong single aisle jet, the 57.1m DC-8-61 (with 6 doors per side!). I don't know of any other longer narrowbodies (the 753 is 54.47m). flic.kr/p/ptV3MCNote the L1011 behind. I know it is a bit further away but look how easily it covers it nose to tail.
