Love it! Looking great, one of the best next to KLM of course Beautiful! Does anyone know if BA will have blue engines on their 787s? IMO, their livery isn't complete without them.

Why is this? Weight of fuel that needs to be carried? I think this is a very important aspect of the Middle East carriers' success. They don't have to gorge on fuel to reach most destinations in the Eastern and Western Hemispheres. Not only saves on fuel costs, but probably other stuff too like flight/cabin crew, water, catering etc. ULH flights are a niche market and is more likely to be premium heavy.

For sure they will. The only reason the pictures of L/N 108 that have surfaced don't have the blue engines is that the entire aircraft hasn't been painted yet!

Boeing advises white or grey paint for the 787 nacelles due performance reasons. Of course, the customer can still choose to paint the nacelles. Let's wait & see if BA can live with the fuel penalty, LN108 is inside the paint hangar and should roll out soon.

I don't know if it shows inference but the BA World Cargo liveried 747-8Fs do have blue nacelles

Any other color will result in a higher fuel burn due to the loss of laminar flow over the nacelles. The whole BA fleet has blue engines, the BA 787 with white engines would look like an odd duck

Damn, that's a lot of fuel. I wonder if it would be possible to engineer thinner paints or paints that can achieved the desired look with fewer layers.
