I'm a little surprised about how subdued BA's 787 roll out was compared to their A380. Not a lot of press attention and only a few amateur pictures available so far. The roll out of the A380 seemed a bit more of a special event with official press pictures and Airbus employees waving little Union Jack flags. Could that unveiling have been an Airbus organised thing and not something BA specifically asked for?

One of the YouTube videos showed an interview with the paint-shop manager saying how proud they were to have this BA involvement. Plus of course, the A380 does need all the positive publicity it can get

Thanks. Just what I had wanted to say. Boeing had claimed you'd need the factory pigmented parts to get the laminar flow effects. I'd be surprised if you now can just paint it over. Or is there a different painting system being used now? I'd suspect they just install different nacelles that have been made in another colour. www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/tech_ops/read.main/288886/

Yeah - I think BA might use G-ZBZA etc. for their 787s from their 26th delivery onwards (no Q's in British aircraft registrations) rather than G-AZBZ etc.

Is it possible to start a thread for the BA 787? Or will it just get covered through normal channels? Could be worth it as there is so much interest in it....
