I almost forgot to express pleasure that QR still intends to firm its three options. Don't hold your breath, oil prices went up by $1.00 a barrel today, so AAB has already changed his mind again, but it might go down again tomorrow

Remember Al Baker said last year Qatar had difficulties getting their A380's 'work' for them in the right way, only making money on specific routes and load factors. The 193 saga, Al Bakers statement that the A380 will operate to Sydney from June and now this makes me think he is a bit undecided about fleet planning and usage. What is his strategy? Where is his A380 fleet flying to? Did Al Baker have any airline work experience before being made CEO of Qatar Airlines In 1997 ? He was working for Qatar CAA before this but how did he get that job ? And what was there to do then ! Most aviation enthusiasts over the age of 50 have probably got more experience than him PS widebody aircraft hitting landing lights on takeoff happens all the time, nothing to worry about Thanks for the compliment: I have just hit 50 this year, although young by heart...

I think it is not personally directed to anyone here, just a general comment saying that Qatar doesn't show any real organisation in their A380 use....... It was then mentioned 50 but any age could have been used I reckon, from 7 to 77?.....

Any aviation enthusiast over the age of 5 who can speak and count to ten would do the job better

Would that be after taking the 10 Airbus says he bought or after the 13 the "boss" himself has often claimed to have on order.....

It would have surprised me if it had been so I think we will see also some surprises with the A350. On the end from this year, if he received the first A350-1000, he will say that he converts all outstanding A350-900 to A350-1000. And so on, the never ending story with Qatar Airways. But that is only my opinion
