I think so, Fabien. It must be a rescue order promoted by the russian gouvernment because the Aeroflot airline was not so happy about this plane I heared.

Aeroflot received an early batch of aircraft still far from specs, which was expected but nevertheless created tension with Sukhoi. The issue is said to have been settled, and the SSJ is performing very well (especially in Mexico). I think this order is a further acknowledgement of the qualities and competitiveness of this aircraft type. If this agreement was a concealed bailout, it would be a firm contract with a quick delivery schedule, not just a MoU ...

What is really Russian product on this bird ?
For sure not the engine, not the avionics, not the electronics inside, not the flaps, not the tail section, not the fuselage - what is left ?
Maybe some parts of the design ?

Aeroflot and Sukhoi agreed on the first ten SSJ100 to be returned to Sukhoi in a very early stage. They were called "SSJ100 Light" and all have actually been returned. Some of the later delivered aircraft have been grounded for some time, but that seems to have been attributable to sloppy maintenance or damage incurred during repairs .

For sure not the engine, not the avionics, not the electronics inside, not the flaps, not the tail section, not the fuselage - what is left ? Maybe some parts of the design ? This is an entirely Russian-designed aircraft. Like all modern designs, it features parts built by leading international suppliers.

It might be important for Russian airlines, that you might pay it in Russian currency :-? Or at least it might be easier to get financing backed by the Russian government.
