This sounds like a very broad experiment. Pushing every concievable boundary..oddly enough, the article mentions nothing about time, i wonder how long will this programme go for.

Aside from some heavier A321neo, possibly with some different wing, I don't see anything more radical coming soon in real life.

Deployable flight data recorders. Quote FG - "Airbus’s first A350-1000 test aircraft has been recruited to support development of an innovative flight recorder that can be jettisoned automatically in the event of an accident. I don't see it coming soon. Every single landing will be an overweight landing with electric batteries on board. This is why they talk about way after 2030. Good for some headline but that's it.
