So those two frames not going to ANA as was once thought. Looks like ANA will get new build A380s instead.

.... delivery to ANA to start 2018 ! Not so! From the Jan 29 Airbus press release: which could be one in 2019, one in 2020 and the last in 2021!!

The customer customization on the Skymark birds is significant different, I'm surprised EK takes them. Two oddballs in the fleet. Wonder what will happen with the 3rd Skymark frame (MSN 185). What's different, when they have RR engines like all new EK A380s, and no interiors yet ? Anyhow, if there is any difference, I suppose Airbus can easily deliver these frames in EK's standard.

Have you not seen how much stuff gets installed in the fuselage sections before FAL ? Wiring, pipe work for loos etc ! it will all be in a different place for Skymark spec compared to any EK spec.

Some plumbing may have to be re-done, if it's performed in TLS, which is not perfectly clear to me. All we know is that no work was ever done in XFW.
These frames will give us a clear picture : we'll see whether they are rolled back into the FAL, or just into a hangar, and how long it takes before they roll out again.

Do we even know how much plumbing changes is needed, afterall toilets and galleys tend to be in somewhat similar places. It makes sense though that they're putting the aircraft in a 2 class config since they don't need plumbing for the showers.

The plan for the Skymark birds was a 394-seats-configuration, while the Emirate two-class-configuration seats 615 people. So I guess they will have to install more lavatories and galleys than initially planned for, and that probably requires some severe reworks.
On a side note: we usually identify EK birds (LR, ULR, two-class) by the configuration of windows. I didn't check, but if the Skymark A380s don't match the EK two-class layout, that is probably something that can't be changed, right?
