EY promoting its Residence and first class ... It's also one way of making some frames fly between long range segments.

After recent announcement of second daily a380 service to jfk from june 2017, is there any chance (without additional order for more a380 by etihad and reductions for a380 flights to current destinations) for a380 flights to CDG (planned 2 years ago)? Total from june 2017 etihad a380 flights with 10 frames: two daily to JFK three daily to LHR one daily to SYD one daily to MEL one daily to BOM

Perhaps but EY only increased the 2nd 777 flight to a daily flight since Virgin Australia (In which EY has equity in) withdrew from the SYD-AUH route so EY is simply filling the gaps. One potential problem with EY upgauging the 777 to an A380 is that it spends quite a large time on the ground in Sydney (the flight arrives in the early morning and only departs in the afternoon) so the flight will result in poor aircraft utilisation. But anyway, I'm definitely not going to say no to a second EY A380 in Sydney
