Q. Why have I only just found out today after all the years of A320 production, that some A320s have a 4 wheel boggie on the main undercarriage leg rather than the normal 2 🤔

Q. Why have I only just found out today after all the years of A320 production, that some A320s have a 4 wheel boggie on the main undercarriage leg rather than the normal 2 🤔 I know some older Air India frames used the 4-wheel option due to poor airport surfaces. Not sure if there are any others flying with it these days.

Baroque is right, the four-wheel bogie was designed for Indian Airlines (now merged into Air India) to allow it to use A320s on marginal Indian airports. No other airline ever requested it.

Does anyone know something about MSN 5940? Ex EC-LZF Vueling. Destined (through Airbus I suppose) for JetStar Japan as JA23JJ.
