But he still says “We are very pleased with The Residence,” he said. However, he also mentioned that the airline will not be ordering anymore of the superjumbos" never say never mr. Hogan

I guess it was not a fuel tanker ? Just a pump unit linked to an underground supply ?

Digging a bit further with friends in Dubai and Abu Dhabi asking Etihad and reading what AviationSafety.net (thanks XWB) reported, I now know for sure it was A380 APD on February 16. She was scheduled to do EY103 to New York at 3.20 am. Although Etihad said the aircraft was undamaged and the flight only delayed, it was another A380 that went to New York that day: APB. The rescheduled flight was EY103A at 6.56 am. Passengers were not told about the fire, but they must have seen it from the terminal.
APD must have been checked and did the service to Sydney the next evening. Etihad replied with this Tweet, which is the same as I just came accross in a webreport:
'Hi there, Please be informed that was a vehicle caught fire at Abu Dhabi International Airport, in the vicinity of an Etihad Airways Airbus A380 that was being serviced in preparation for a flight from Abu Dhabi to New York. Airport emergency services were initiated immediately and the stricken vehicle was removed from the area. Etihad Airways flight to New York on 16 February was subsequently delayed by two hours. However, at no time was the aircraft, crew or guests at risk as a result of this incident. The safety of Etihad Airways’ passengers and staff is of paramount importance. Thanks *AS
