I do not believe that this is a certainty...... Neither do I, it's only a possibility

Looking at the Production list 3, I noticed an interesting thing:
From the total of 38 frames not yet convoyed (MSN 179-216), that are on the list, 32 are 380-861 (GP), and only 6 are 380-841 (RR). Is it just a random coincidence or does it mean something more than that? Up until now I was under impression, that there are more 841 orders than 861, including the Emirates.

I think it's just random coincidence. The MSN order will be decided by when the airlines wish to take their frames, and the airlines have already decided on their engines, so this is the cause. There are just not many frames to be taken up in the near future with RR engines.

I didn't have the time to finish this last night. Delivered and announced c/n's with RR Asiana 4 British Airways 12 China Southern 5 Lufthansa 14 Malaysia 6 Private 1 Qantas 12 Singapore 19 Skymark (cld) 3 Thai Airways 6 Total 82With EA engines Air France 10 Emirates 82 Etihad 8 Korean 10 Qatar 8 Transaero 2 Total 120Grand total 202The discrepancy in the total of 321 aircraft (combined with previous post) to the 318 current orders stems from the cancelled Skymark order, which are included above. So, in all RR vs EA 103 - 188 with 30 more in the balance

So, in all RR vs EA 103 - 188 with 30 more in the balance Has EK chosen the powerplant for the 50 A380 order placed recently? I thought they are still evaluating between RR and EA and waiting on Airbus's decision to re-engine it. .................................................................................................................. ...and with this post, I'm officially DELIVERED! Time to look for a new avatar pic.
