Hi guys
I would like to start a NEW thread on regards to LHR and the A380. I have exciting news to share along with you guys about A380 operations at Heathrow.
Whilst being at work today, I came across with the construction mangers who have been designing the new terminals and gates at Heathrow. E.g. T2 and T5 and so on. I have been told by the construction mangers that BAA are now looking forward to design another satellite terminal for T5. The new 'T5D'. With this new T5D coming on its way (Which i hope so!) they also mentioned T5D gates will only handle the A380.
I guess this means more capacity growing into LHR?

This would make sense as BA has 12 A380s on order with 7 options as well. Perhaps BA will order more A380s depending on their performance when they first enter the fleet. Their fleet of 744s is really starting to age.

Yesterday whilst flying from LHR I saw 6 frames, could not tell you which MSNs but there were:
2 QF 2 SQ 1 EK 1 MH
There were probably more hiding around, but that's all I saw whilst taxiing out from T5B to 27L.

I think you were pretty lucky to spot those 6 frames because is very probable that you saw EVERY frame which actually was there. If everything goes according to the timetables, there shouldn't be more than those six at LHR at the same time very often. There might be some chance to see two EK frames at the same time in the early afternoon (EK029 is scheduled for a 1330 arrival, 15 minutes before the scheduled departure of EK002) or in the evening (arrival EK005 at 2015 / departure EK004 at 2040). The total number will increase of course when BA takes its first deliveries.
