She is now a long time in the air over france. We know that MSN147 has a probe attached. Maybe she make some additional tests.

Okay, I got some questions about that... What exactly is done during a performance flight? Why is it done on this frame? It's not like it's a prototype or something. And what is a trailing cone for? Thx

I will say it is to make sure the frames still meet or exceed expectation special after improvement or upgrade. They pickup a frame each year for the testing. We had photos for another EK frame done the test last year (don't ask me which MSN it was because I don't remember but I am pretty sure FabienA380 or XWB has the info). The trailing cone is a sense to measure certain kind of criteria. Please correct my answers if you have more accurate ones

The one EK frames that I can think of that had the probe as well were MSN025, MSN098 and MSN116. MSN098 did at least 4 different flights at Toulouse before being ferried to XFW... I'm wondering if the black part at the bottom of the tail (MSN147, MSN142) could be another sensor??... Fabien

I looked up what a trailing cone does. It is used as a refernce (static) preassure sensor as reference to the ones on the aircraft. The cone is just used to stabalize the hose, which is the measuring part.
