From the A380 cool pictures thread(since the photos I'm posting are of the 74) That place is a great spotting location especially near the fence line (first photo), you really get a sense of how big an airplane is. Annoyingly you can't really get there by public transport and it's hard to take pictures through the fence but it is still a great place . People sometimes bring horses there for a swim in the morning and as you can see it's a popular place to bring dogs. I've also seen a small recreational hovercraft there once. THX quidam, you have an eye for that! The first time I used my best three primes, the Pentax FA limiteds. Very beautiful lenses.

There is nothing better that a good prime lens! I'm a photographer too - but I shoot something a little slower and a little heavier - namely trains
