Qantas OQF has been damaged during maintenance in Sydney. The tailplane was hit, which takes a 6 week repair. For this reason there is no A380 to LA for this period. Has nothing to do with wing repairs.

I am not sure if this is new, but in an updated AD by EASA published on May 7 ad.easa.europa.eu/ad/2013-0108R2 is this paragraph: "For the reasons described above, this AD is revised to introduce Airbus Repair Design Approval Sheet (RDAS) or Technical Disposition (TD) as an acceptable alternative method when accomplishment of the modification instructions is not possible due to aeroplane configuration." If I understand this correctly there are some A380's that can't have the wing rib modifications due to aeroplane configuration. I wonder what this means.

The text does not detail the reasons why some configurations would prevent compliance with previous rules. I suppose that the A380 is so deeply customised that there are some odd cases in which you could not perform the required modifications without ruining some major cabin outfits ...

Hey guys, just wondering... This thread has not been posted in in almost a year. According to the spreadsheet in the first post, there were still 19 frames requiring modification.
Are there any news?
Are all frames possibly even wing-fixed by now?
Or are the 19 remaining frames "not wing-fixable" due to the reasons speculated about 3 posts up?
