The equipment change on the SYD-HKG route seems to be a consequence of the use of A380s on the SYD-DFW route (see jkkw's May 7th post on the previous page).

Indeed.... though, it doesn't explain how QF still find resources to fly an A380 still to HKG for 2 months, December and January...

bvb09, nice catch; I don't recall this ever happening before. According to a380flights.net/, there is no trace of this happening before. Question is to know if this is a one time flight or something that is likely to happen again going forward

Interesting obervation however I don't think the A380 will continue on to JFK, rather, they'll use a 744 which operates the Brisbane to LA flight.
