First is LN123, which should start assembly towards the end of May, or around then. And with the backlog at PAE, "sometimes after August" seems plausible AFAIK, the first ones are going to Jetstar

I don't remember exactly but I think the first ones are going to Jetstar? Fabien Correct, all the 788s on order are for Jetstar which will replace their A330s which will be sent to Qantas (half of the A330s at JQ started life at Qantas before being sent to JQ as they were deemed to large to be turned around quickly). The A330s will then replace the QF's 767s which are mainly used on domestic routes. QF also has purchase rights for 50 789s which will be Qantas frames which from memory if (re)firmed will be delivered from 2016

doing a 1-1 replacement of the A330 which will go to QF Interesting. Usually the older, less sophisticated aircraft are transferred from the mainline operations to their LCC arm.

doing a 1-1 replacement of the A330 which will go to QF Interesting. Usually the older, less sophisticated aircraft are transferred from the mainline operations to their LCC arm. What is even more interesting is that a few of the A330s that are going back to Qantas started life flying domestically at Qantas before transferring to Jetstar. The decision to place the 788s at JQ is actually not a bad one as the A330s that are going to Qantas will be used to replace the 767s which are all used to fly domestically (except for a single flight to Honolulu Edit; and a once weekly flight to Noumea!). By not directly replacing the 767s with 787s, the 787 can be used to fly the longer routes, for which the 787 was designed for.
