They need more crews, production rates are going up for the A320 and A350. The Belugas are going to have to fly more flights 6 days a week until the Beluga XL comes along and can move more pieces at a time, especially A350 wings, one at a time currently, two at a time with the XL. Each A350 wing takes multiple flights to get from Broughton to TLS !

Makes sense. The Belugas are already flying 7 days a week to keep up with everything.

I know it is not a nice thought but is there a backup plan in case one of the Beluga's crashes and all are grounded?

Makes sense. The Belugas are already flying 7 days a week to keep up with everything. They fly regularly Mon - Fri, some flights on Saturdays, not that many on Sundays unless there is catch up to be done due to be bad weather (cross winds mainly cause cancellations / delays).

There are not any other spare aircraft that could take the size of parts that AB transports with the Belugas.

They have flown every Sunday since my recordings back in early November, especially in December they have flown 6-8 flights on a Sunday. Not sure how it is during the summer time but maybe this is to keep up with the end of year commitments, or maybe because they won't fly during the Christmas period, or maybe it is because of delays during the week?

Airbus has implemented a plan for a more intensive use of the Beluga fleet as production is being ramped up in all plants.
