This is interesting in the article - if true "It gets even more delicate because one of Boeings leading engineers left the company and sued them because he saw the 787 as a potential security risk and he did not want associated with this project anymore. This went widely unnoticed. "

This went widely unnoticed. " I remember reading about it during the battery mishaps. The engineer did warn about the shortcomings of the battery system design but it went ignored.

I have mixed feelings about such behaviours. Was this man motivated by strictly professional concerns, or was he hoping to make a mint out of legal proceedings ?
