As far as I know they often invite press in the assembly halls. I was there too on October 21 (I am a journalist with Dutch regional TV), but then I was with a group and hadn't identified myself. But they must have noticed, as I was writing down all the MSN-numbers and used them in the album 'A380 visit Hamburg' of www.facebook.com/A380fanclubLelystad. MSN156 was the second frame on the left in Halle 260. Recently I saw a tweet from another Dutch journo who is to write an article on the A380 assembly, although I don't know when and where.

Where is this shot taken? Looks like Halle 260 in Finki to me If you wanna know where that is, you can use Open Street Map. It is not too up to date (doesnt have the new A320 paintshop next to the A380 paintjob for example), but it 'does the job': www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/53.5403/9.8271

thanks xxxx!! Would you know/remember by any chance, if there are a few different hangars at XFW building the fuselage sections (and their numbers), or only the 240?.. Fabien

All the A380 fuselage are assembled in 260. In 261 the same is done for A330 and A350. This hall is also just being expanded (don't know whether already in use). In 8 all the rear fuselage sections for the A320 family worldwide are assembled. 6 is the worst by far: Here they make the panels for the fuselage itself and you can only hear the riveting all around.
By 'assembly' I mean that they get the 'naked' fuselage sections and build in stuff like isolation, air conditioning, hydrolics pipes and all sorts of other pipes and all the cables (that's how it was done in 8 (had a 1-week work experieance in there in 2012) and how it seemed to be done in 260 and 261 as well)
I hope I remember all of this right...
