If delta airlines had a clam shell rear end they could fit it to the DC9 and it would be back in service in no time at all, or is it an MD88 ?

Very Off topic but anyone able to identify the plane that flew from near Hamburg today and spent a several hours doing circuits between the Outer Hebrides and mainland Scotland. Flight pattern looked AWACS like. This was c. 8am onwards BST. FR24 did not identify the plane but described it as a Boeing 747-346. The call sign was B743. It was tracked with radar but then TMLAT on return to Hamburg area......... Just curious..... JT

I think this is the best thread to post this under as it reminds me of the demise of Flying Tiger airlines, they had some great graphics on some of their planes.

BA B747 G-BNLW has just had its last flight Cardiff to Kemble. 1 month at Cardiff to remove the interior bits BA want and now ready for scrapping. One flyby at Kemble before landing. And a very bad IPad picture of it at 9k feet from my front garden, it might well be the last picture of it airborne though !!!!
