Well, it's relieving to see them stick to Airbus. But I really hoped to see an A350 in HA colours. Hopefully, they will reconsider them in the future. Good news, nevertheless. Airbus can formally drop the -800, or postpone it. I don't think there are other important customers left.

I would expect Airbus to complete discussions with all other -800 customers before officialising the cancellation of the sub-type (though it might still be re-designed and built at a much later stage in the programme life).

I would not say it that way Baroque.
There are others - but probably more ready to listen to the suggestion for change...
Aeroflot with 8 pcs - who declared they do want the type in the past. Asiana with 8 pcs - ? (they have also 12pcs 900 + 10 pcs 1000) AWAS (who knows for who) with 2 pcs and Yemenia with 10 pcs - ?
So still 28 pcs to go.

I expect Aeroflot and Asiana to switch to the larger -900.
Not sure about AWAS and Yemenia, they might cancel the order.

Well at least it is good to see that IAG are turning half of their A350 options into firm orders along with an equal amount of 330 200's for Iberia to replace their 340's.

Like UA, IAG believes the A350-1000 is a perfect 744 replacement.
