It seems to show the limits of communicating indirectly via the public in drama mode. This goes to both sides. Why not just be honest about what went wrong and how to repair it? Fix it and fly again.

Money, mate, money! If one party asking for hundred millions of Euro for compensation because how serious they believe this issue is, and the other party thinks a re-paint and small repair will solve the issue. The difference is money, not honesty. Anyone dealing with Middle East partners, will know this is their typical approach.

I would really like to find out what Qatar demanded for compensation? Must have been quite over the top somehow as other airlines seem to have agreed on some solution.

Two Qatar A350-1000 officially cancelled on Airbus' book from Jan O&D. I wonder if those are 409/430 or later frames in the backlog.
