I would offer a piece of advice : believe nothing you are told at this stage.
A few hours ago, we were told the wreckage had been localised, which turned out to be untrue.
Likewise, the false passports story, which conveniently fuels suspicion of terrorism, may be entirely wrong (a guy saw his name on a list and called to say he was not aboard, but who knows whether or not someone else with the same name and a genuine passport did embark ?) or irrelevant (use of false identification is more frequent that one believes, but in most cases it is used for immigration purposes ...).

They are also saying one of the passengers was travelling on a stolen passport of an Italian Citizen. It now seems two people with stolen passports were aboard.

It now seems two people with stolen passports were aboard. Passengers traveling on stolen passports are not unusual and does not automatically indicate any terrorist activity. Likewise, terrorist activity does not always depend on stolen passports and this is very rare. While this story is of a major concern, from the information we have, anything is still possible. The reports are consistent with a sudden, catastrophic failure of sorts that gave very little time for the crew to make any contact with ground control. Very likely explosive/rapidly disintegrative in nature leading to an instant deterioration of flight control, not necessarily caused by a bomb. While we cannot completely rule it out here, there are plenty of incidents where even bombs gave time for the crew to make contact with ground control and in this age, I believe it would be extremely difficult for one to smuggle onboard bombs packing as much firepower to bring down a large airliner in a matter of seconds.

I think we should put the MH370 Incident in its own thread, out of Boeing 777 - General Discussion.

I think we should put the MH370 Incident in its own thread, out of Boeing 777 - General Discussion. I hope the moderators will reject this idea. If you wish to speculate on this tragic event, subscribe to A.net and add to the (over) 800 posts there. Let's keep this as it is: the Doubledecker Board.

Have I been speculating about this tragic event? What the hell, if you want to insult people do it somewhere else. It is just my opinion that discussing an accident has nothing to do with Boeing 777 - General Discussion.

Of course, you have not speculated or written any nonsense! I think Peter wanted to say that the speculations on a.net disturb him. But of course, you're right. This tragic accident should also be discussed here! So, no worries

Calm down guys:) I think we should create another thread for the accident, this post is more related to 777 itself.
