Interesting. I know of a second configuration at Singapore Airlines where they have the full upper deck filled with C-seats. That seems to be their later layout.
Any pictures of the eleven abreast seating that Airbus is said to be offering now?

Unfortunatly Airbus didn't make it to Aircraft Interiors Expo with the mock-up, so no pictures yet.

OK - it is still not so bad - 18.5" compared to 787 - 17.3" whole 1.2" wider than UNITED and most others !!!!!!!

One more comparison which just struck me. The A380 with elevated floor is 248" wide, two aisles at normal 20" i.e. 208/17,3" (B787 standard seats in 3-3-3) gives 12 !!!!! So 3-5-3 could be "elevated" to "BOEING standard " at 3-6-3. OK let's hope no one is going to do this.

I can confirm that BA's 787 economy seat is too narrow to comfortable, I do hope Airbus do not follow the same path..... JT

JT Do you think there will come a time when comfort will become more of a factor than cost? When you're wedged in the middle seat on a 12 hour journey, are you likely to be congratulating yourself on the low-cost journey or wondering whether you'll ever fly this airline again? I know the number crunchers have taken it into account, but isn't the customer base likely to contract, at least to a certain extent? I'd probably reduce my already low frequency of air travel and choose an airline that respects me as a passenger, rather than insult me as a customer.

Well noistar - you would have to forget all the owners of 787 + about half of the owners of 777

Well noistar - you would have to forget all the owners of 787 + about half of the owners of 777 Well, as long as EVA stay with their current 777 layout and Thai with their 340/747 layouts I'll survive BKK/LHR. Do you think passengers will just roll-over and accept whatever profit measures the airlines dream up? I don't know, but perhaps the 35-40 new seats might result in more than 40 fewer passengers. Perhaps a safety organization might come up with an issue. Seems air travel is turning back into a rich man's game. Business Class, s-d everyone else perhaps.
