This article is a bit muddled. If KLM and Air France do a clean swap of 787 against A350, than KLM should receive 9 787-9 from Air France. I can hardly imagine Air France transferring only 6 of 9 787-9 they are operating to KLM and keep operating 3.

Air France is not transfering their existing 787s, just their last 6 on order Air France will take delivery of one more 787-9, this stopping their fleet at 10 aircraft

Non delivered either. The Air France - KLM group has ordered all together 25 787, 10 delivered 15 unfilled. Where do all the 787 come from, with KLM having now 14 and Air France 9 and it seems 15 more expected. Is the rest through lessors?

The rest are still on order. Several have come from lessors.

Than we are talking about Air France receiving one more 787-9. KLM is than expected to receive 7 more 787-10 and 6 of the 787-9 ordered for Air France. That would add 14 frames to 23 together 37 frames while all together 25 have been ordered. Somehow I find that this numbers do not match and I am wondering where 12 frames come from.

That is an explanation. So the frames are bought by Aercap from Boeing.

That makes sense to me, B787s for KLM and A350s for Air France. Logical.
