The lead time on some of these parts surprises me

The lead time on some of these parts surprises me MSN 31 should be delivered in early 2015, and might be rolled out in 2014. I don't think we should be surprised that widebody lead times exceed one year and a half. Let's also not forget that this is still an early frame. Lead times might soon be improved. |

In my opinion, not necessarily.
The FAL is now at a pace of one frame per month, with a scheduled rate increase in 2015 which I don't know the details of.
MSN7 already is in FAL, and we can expect MSNs up to at least 15 to enter it this year. I don't know how many more aircraft will follow in 2015, but I am confident that the increased pace will allow MSN 31 to be built and delivered next year, though my prediction of an 'early' 2015 delivery was definitely optimistic.
