The most interesting part for me is, that the A350-1000 will replace some 777-300ER. We could assume that more A350-1000 will be ordered to replace further 777-300ER as they are getting older. I assume the 777-200 will be replaced by A350-900. What will replace the 777-300. Cathay has 53 777-300ER, 12 777-300, 4 777-200 and 34 A330-300. Current unfilled orders are 21 777-9, 20 A350-1000 and 6 A350-900.

Regarding the 772s, those are being replaced by 5 ex EK 773s. Is that not a short term move? I haven't seen anything that suggests that though I could be wrong. B-HNL has already left (and thankfully will be preserved) and I assume the 4 others will leave soon.

260 t version of a350-1000 will be ideally to replace 7 older cathay 777-300 from 2022. In this year average age of seven cathay 777-300 frames will be 23,5 year. In my opinion Airbus will introduce 260 t (regional) version of a350-1000 for Asian markets.
