Most probably, that would be a batch 3 aircraft.

Indeed, I have MSN29 as the first CX A350.

And yet msn 49 CI's first plane is expected to arrive in early 2016 too. I would have thought cx is being very careful with the dates and most likely will get it by late 2015 unless they just wait until they have a sizable batch to start operations in that case they will want 2-3 planes to start with. If we are at 3 frames per month by the end of the year your looking at MSN20-25 starting in FAL before the end of this year. And as we can see now with times reducing in FAL. I would not be surprised frames going into FAL before May 1st being delivered in that year.

Final assembly of MSN 5 started in November 2013. doubledecker.boards.net/thread/570/a350-msn5-airbus?page=2As first flight now is scheduled in June, it should take about seven months between entry into FAL and delivery. Tris06' speculation that frames in FAL before May 1st could be delivered this year might therefore come true (especially if FAL is speeding up), but it's not going to be a cake walk ... Frames recently have been spending a long time in pre-FAL. I don't expect many of them to make it to the FAL before May 1st (except MSN 6 and MSN 7 which are already there).

3 CX pilots were invited to fly the aircraft in TLS early last month. The airline is "keen to operate the A350 alongside CX’s existing fleet of Airbus aircraft with a common group of pilots" adding that “We have a long history of mixed fleet flying between A330 and A340 aircraft and expect to bring the A350 into the fold under a similar mechanism known as a common type rating,” downloads.cathaypacific.com/cx/press/cxw/Flip/CXW219/index.html#/2/
