This is really weird. One would guess that long time ago something would have been done by ZODIAC. Those delays must cost Airbus a lot of money. The production of an airplane seat should not be such a complicated thing - it is not "rocket" science. If the problems would be with engines, or some avionics, or APU or something complicated I would understand but seats ? !

Just wait for the contract claw backs by AB over Zodiac for delayed deliveries of seats and loos, it will cost them, a lot An aircraft is possibly more simple than 10 toilets, 240 economy seats and 30 economy plus ones and 30 business class ones

(max.38/18) Today about -3% ZODIAC management is optimistic... www.zodiacaerospace.com/en/news/group-news/q1-sales-revenue-zodiac-aerospace-recovery-continuesBut you are right they are somewhere else on the web predicting heavy losses from compensation to their customers. The seats represent about 26% of their business, the "cabin" i.e. those toilets and other above 35% - those two represent huge majority of their operation. I am afraid here that once more their relation to BOEING is better and here we see the influence, but who knows ?

I think the picture of a Zodiac toilet surround breaking apart on AYs first A350 after 4 weeks in service has something to do with it !
No wonder AB kicked them off the A 330 program to make them concentrate on the A350 !
AB made a very very big mistake making Zodiac the sole supplier for the A350 interiors, lesson learnt !

This is really weird. One would guess that long time ago something would have been done by ZODIAC. I think one major reason for the present situation is that several independant companies that had supposedly been merged into the Zodiac group kept working as before, while the Zodiac group management did not have a full grasp of the situation. So, the situation somehow questions the airframers' push to create larger, supposedly reliable, first-tier contractors. This seemingly was done too fast.

But ZODIAC is not such a HUGE thing. They have worldwide 3000 employees - that is all. They have many small factories worldwide..... But you are right this seems to be management problem and I am sure the shareholders are not happy !

Wikipedia shows two new interesting news about future a350 cathay fleet: a) configuration of seats in a350-1000: 46 business class + 32 premium economy class + 256 economy class = total 334 seats b) number of orders for version -900 and -1000 are identical = 25 (probably cathay will convert 1 order from -1000 to -900 version of a350 and order 2 more -900): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathay_Pacific_fleet
