It did a go around on its return to LHR this afternoon (abt 1pm FR24 time. No idea why, could have been the previous landing plane was slow to clear the runway........ I watched it fly over me on its first approach...... JT

The more interesting part about this is the next comment on BASource that BA had to sub a 747 on BA55 due to the diversion...
But in reality, they flew G-XLEC back to London, and she managed to do the BA25 HKG flight, albeit some 5-6 hours late.
If BA25 is due to depart @ 6:35, and BA55 @ 7:10, how was the sub because of the diversion?
To me, it sounds more like G-XLEB never made it out of the Tuesday/Wednesday tech. In fact, she hasn't flown since Monday...

In fact, she hasn't flown since Monday... ...And G-XLEB still hasn't flown since Monday, necessitating another 747 sub on Saturday's JNB rotation. Wish I had the foresight to look at dummy bookings on these routes to see if 747's were actually subbed or planned all along... |
