At the risk of getting a tongue-lashing for taking my eye off the ball.
Is this frame now a photographic model?
The EY frames seem to be stacking up in Hamburg, with no apparent urgency for completi/delivery.
Somebody, somewhere must have got things wrong. Presumably Airbus require staged payments, so doing the work and getting no return must be costing somebody.
Spoken with my usual technical/business ignorance

If I understood you right you believe that something is going wrong with finance or the funding of the frames. I think that's wrong however, because XWB already pointed out in the EY B789 thread that financing for MSN 170 was secured: a380.boards.net/index.cgi?board=8&action=display&thread=762www.arabianaerospace.aero/korean-financial-institutions-provide-15-year-100-financing-for-etihad-s-a380.htmlSo then why are EY frames 'stacking up' in XFW? I think simply because Airbus isn't able to fix mistakes. Take for example MSN 170 that went away for weeks after it's CFF and then did two flights up to very high altitudes (40000ft), which usually only ever happens on CFFs. They even did a low approach on one of these flights. That means (I think) that some major mistake was discovered during CFF and it had to be fixed. The fact that these mistakes are happening to more than one EY frame is not coincidence: MSN 170 is only the second frame for EY so Airbus still has to get used to it. In contrast we only very rarely see EK frames doing extra flights simply because Airbus has already built so many A380s for EK.

Zodiac seats may be part of the issue, but their absence would not translate into more flights. InsightAVIATION has a point, though I hope he is wrong, and the problems are small ... For sure, as Noistar pointed out, aircraft on ground cost a lot of money, in this case to both Airbus and EY.

Hi I wasn't directly suggesting a problem with purchase finance. I suppose I was thinking more in terms of the fact that they are up against Emirates who appear to dominate. I can't remember how many frames have overtaken EY2 AND EY3 but it just seems strange to my less well-informed eye. A sudden rush of EY deliveries may be in the offing, but meanwhile it seems to be a case of getting the frames out of the way so airlines who actually want their frames aren't held up. If it's Airbus' fault I'd expect the airline to be vocal. If it's not, I remember the silence from Airbus when a delay was attributed to a supplier problem. Probably a lot of unfortunate co-incidences that the EY frames are suffering delays Let's hope so. Cancellations are not always due to an airline failing, are they? A change of requirement may be a trigger If I understood you right you believe that something is going wrong with finance or the funding of the frames. I believe there were financial issues (or delays) still.
Roll Out of MSN170 occured by mid-January, CFF early February, and only by mid-March there was this article posted saying that financial had been secured.
Overall, indeed there might be a combination of both, financial delays and frames' issues....

Let's hope all will finish fine on the end - i.e. the plane will fly in the service of EY - that we will know.
