********************************************************** NEWS: Royal Jordanian (RJ) will receive their first 787 in 2014. The first three are scheduled in 2014 with the remaining eight in 2016 and 2017. They will replace the 310/340s. No mention on initial destinations, but my home airport of DTW is bound to get them eventually!

^ YUL is a tag-on for the DTW flights, so if we get it, you'll get it too.

My friend got overly excited about it being a 787 to DTW, so I think I became a bit gullible. I've heard rumors of QR and TK possibly coming here, so we'll likely get one at some point. I've just gotten a bit skeptical of the rumors though.

Any news on Royal Jordanian Airlines' B787s, when are they planned for?... (wikipedia says 2015) Fabien Self-answering part of my question, there's no LN and no tag 'Royal Jordanian Airlines' appearing at nyc787.blogspot.ca/, so that might be later than sooner... Fabien

UPDATE#1: - Assembly is in full swing at PAE.
- Expected delivery should be in August 2014 with three more by the end of the year.
- Preparations for the arrival of the jets and the training of pilots to fly the 787 will start this month, adding that the one-month course will be held at the Boeing Campus in Gatwick, London. The training will cover around 80 pilots working on the airline’s current Airbus fleet.
- Groups of engineers, mechanics and composite experts at RJ, in addition to a number of flight attendants, obtained the required training for the new 787 in Miami. The qualified employees will, in turn, train other staff members on the maintenance and in-flight services of the new Dreamliners.
- Expected to gradually replace the current Airbus 340s and 330s, a step in line with RJ’s strategy of modernising fleet, expanding routes and keeping up with the latest technology
