It is sometimes better to send all your staff at vacation at once, stopping production for a little while, instead of "always" missing someone on vacation. Employees anyway need holiday, and if you looking on the productivity, many of he countries with good vacation benefit is showing high productivity per employee

Another point during those vacations in big factorys like Airbus or car manufactorys in germany is the repair and new installations of machines and equipment. Those breaks are importent to hold the productivity at a high level during the rest of the year.
